Leeds Law Society Golf Day 2022 @ Howley Hall

Being from Bristol I had never heard of Howley Hall Golf Club. I have played a number of courses in Yorkshire, but not this one.

Leeds Law Society ran a golf day for many years at Ganton and I played in it in 2018 and 2019 but made the point to them that 36 holes in a day on a REALLY tough golf day is not most people’s idea of fun. Me? I was like a pig in doodoo.

So this year saw a switch to one round, teams of four, two to score round a less challenging golf course.

But less challenging does not mean less fun. At just over 6,000 yards it’s not a long course, but with plenty of trees and a few quirky (in a good way) holes it was a really fun day out.

It was not the best-supported golf day I have been to this year, but it was still lovely to be out on ‘the links. Despite messing up the 17th (a GREAT short par 4) and the 18th (a GREAT long par 3) my team still managed to come 2nd!

With visitor green fees from £25, I would definitely put this in a hidden gem category of golf clubs. Go play it!
